About Zentachain

Overview

Zentachain is a decentralized telecom network. It moves communication off the traditional carrier and server model and onto a peer-to-peer mesh of dedicated hardware nodes operated by independent participants worldwide. An end-to-end encrypted messaging application sits on top of the mesh, and an EVM-compatible blockchain settles activity and compensates the people who run the network. The result is a complete telecom stack — from the user's device down to the physical relay layer — that keeps working in places and conditions where ordinary internet infrastructure is unavailable, restricted, or unreliable.

Architecture

The Zentachain network is composed of five components that together form a self-contained telecom stack: Zentalk at the application layer, Zentamesh at the routing layer, Zentanode as the physical hardware layer, Zentagate as the bridge between offline and online traffic, and CHAIN as the settlement and compensation layer. Each component is independently operable but designed to interlock — messages originate in Zentalk, travel through Zentamesh, are relayed by Zentanodes, cross Zentagate when moving between offline mesh and online validators, and are ultimately settled on the CHAIN blockchain.

Zentalk

Zentalk is the messaging application that sits at the top of the stack. Conversations are end-to-end encrypted and stored only on participants' own devices, never on a central server. When the user has internet access, messages route through the wider Zentachain network. When the internet is unavailable, the application automatically falls back to the offline mesh and continues working — the same conversation, on the same device, without reconfiguration on the user's part. Zentalk is open source and currently available as a web application; native applications for macOS, iOS, and Android are in development.

Zentamesh

Zentamesh is the routing layer of the network. It is a peer-to-peer mesh that delivers messages directly between participants without depending on traditional internet infrastructure. Routing is self-healing, so the network keeps working when individual nodes drop offline or when sections of the wider internet become unavailable. Traffic that accumulates on the mesh while connectivity is restricted is bridged back into the wider network as soon as a connection is available, so messages are not lost during outages.

Zentanode

Zentanode is purpose-built hardware that runs the mesh and validates blocks on the CHAIN blockchain. Each Zentanode operates continuously as an edge device, with low power consumption and unattended operation, and is distributed exclusively through the official Zentachain online store. Operators receive CHAIN rewards for relaying mesh traffic and securing the chain; reward distribution is automated and handled on-chain. Each independently operated node extends the geographic reach of the network and contributes to its security and decentralization.

Zentagate

Zentagate is the bridge between the offline mesh and the online validator network. It allows participants in mesh-only environments — devices in regions or conditions without reliable internet access — to communicate with internet-connected nodes elsewhere on the network. The bridge layer also provides anonymity, severing the link between the originator's mesh location and the public-internet path the message ultimately takes.

CHAIN

CHAIN is the EVM-compatible blockchain that anchors the network. It handles settlement, distributes Zentanode rewards, and anchors user identity for on-chain features. Smart contracts written for the Ethereum Virtual Machine can be deployed on CHAIN with minimal changes. A read-only public validator explorer at explorer.zentalk.chat exposes the live state of the network — validator activity, mesh-node distribution, and reward flows — to anyone who wants to verify it.

Founder

Zentachain was founded in 2018 by Harun Kacemer, the company's Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director. His background is in cryptography, distributed systems, and embedded networking. The project began as research into censorship-resistant peer-to-peer communication and grew into the multi-component telecom network described above. The team currently consists of more than ten people across software engineering, hardware, network infrastructure, and operations. Zentachain is operated as Zentachain GmbH, a German company registered in Dortmund.

Why Zentachain

Most decentralized-communication projects address only a single layer of the stack — a messaging application running on top of existing centralized servers, an experimental mesh protocol without an economic layer, or a blockchain network without a consumer-facing product. Zentachain is structured as a complete telecom network rather than a single application or a single chain: consumer software at the top, a routing protocol underneath, hardware that participates directly in the network, and an on-chain settlement layer that compensates operators. Communication continues even when sections of the wider internet are unavailable, which positions Zentachain closer to a telecom carrier than to a typical blockchain project.

CHAIN Token

CHAIN is the native token of the Zentachain network. It compensates Zentanode operators for relaying mesh traffic and validating blocks, supports staking by holders in service of network security, enables on-chain governance over protocol parameters and treasury allocations once mainnet governance is active, and pays for selected high-throughput operations on the network, including priority message routing.
