Ripple has launched a dedicated platform for institutional management of its US dollar-pegged stablecoin, Ripple USD (RLUSD), as the token's market capitalization approaches $1.6 billion. The platform, called Ripple Mint, gives institutions the ability to mint, redeem, and manage RLUSD through either a web interface or direct application programming interface integrations.
Ripple described the platform as built around the operational preferences of institutional users. A treasury desk running automated workflows can connect via API, while teams that prefer manual controls can use the web interface. The company said Ripple Mint is designed to support institutions adopting stablecoins for payments, trading, and treasury activities.

RLUSD launched in December 2024 with an initial focus on institutional adoption, though the stablecoin has since attracted retail users as well. Within less than a year of launch, it entered the top 10 US dollar-pegged stablecoins by market capitalization, a threshold it crossed before the Ripple Mint announcement.

RLUSD Market Cap Climbs Near Recent Highs

The stablecoin reached its all-time high market capitalization of more than $1.8 billion on June 1, 2026. Around the time of the Ripple Mint launch on July 23, RLUSD's market cap moved from approximately $1.54 billion to $1.64 billion before settling near $1.59 billion. At the time of publication, RLUSD ranked as the ninth-largest USD-pegged stablecoin by market capitalization.

The launch of Ripple Mint positions RLUSD alongside a growing number of stablecoins competing for institutional treasury and payments business. Ripple has framed the platform as infrastructure rather than a retail product, emphasizing workflow flexibility as the primary feature for enterprise clients managing digital dollar positions at scale.
