Hyperscale Data, a publicly traded Bitcoin miner, has started converting part of its Bitcoin (BTC) treasury into construction capital.

The company announced on July 30 that it sold approximately 100 BTC and opened a Bitcoin-backed credit facility to finance an AI data center campus in Michigan.

CEO William Horne said the move reflects a deliberate shift in how the company allocates its balance sheet, not a change in its view on Bitcoin. The sale proceeds are being used to cover construction costs and purchase infrastructure and long-lead equipment for the Michigan campus. The remaining Bitcoin holdings serve as collateral for a credit facility carrying expected variable interest rates of 4.5% to 5.0%.

The company said it is deploying capital from a $71 million Bitcoin treasury to fund the project. According to BitcoinTreasuries(dot)NET, Hyperscale Data still holds approximately 1,006 BTC after the sale. That figure places it 44th among publicly traded corporate Bitcoin holders.

10-Year Agreement Anchors the Michigan Campus

The Michigan campus is being built to fulfill a master services agreement with an unnamed neo-cloud AI infrastructure provider. The initial contract covers 20 megawatts of AI compute capacity over a 10-year term. Two optional five-year extensions are included. If the contract runs through its full maximum term, it is projected to generate more than $1.2 billion in revenue.

The unnamed provider also holds an option to expand capacity by an additional 32 MW within the first two years of the agreement. Hyperscale Data said that if the expansion option is exercised and the contract is maintained through its maximum term, total revenue would exceed $3 billion. No timeline for a final decision on the expansion option has been disclosed.

Other Bitcoin Miners Made Similar Treasury Moves in 2026

Hyperscale Data was formerly known as Ault Alliance before rebranding in 2024. The rebrand reflected a strategic pivot toward AI infrastructure while the company retained its Bitcoin mining operations. Its shares trade on NYSE American under the ticker GPUS and rose more than 5% in late morning trading on July 30.

The company's treasury action follows similar moves by other publicly traded Bitcoin holders this year. MARA Holdings sold 15,133 BTC for approximately $1.1 billion in March 2026 to retire convertible senior notes and fund expansion into digital energy and AI infrastructure. Bitdeer Technologies liquidated its remaining 943.1 BTC reserve in February 2026 as part of a data center and AI push. Strategy sold 3,588 BTC in July 2026 to meet preferred stock obligations and strengthen dollar liquidity.
