Zimbabwe's SECZ has admitted 7 fintech projects to its regulatory sandbox, with 4 focused on tokenization of assets, securities, and infrastructure.
Zimbabwe's securities regulator has approved seven financial technology projects for its regulatory sandbox, with tokenization making up the bulk of the latest cohort. The Securities and Exchange Commission of Zimbabwe (SECZ) named the participants in a public notice, marking a fresh push to bring blockchain-based financial activity under supervised testing.
The seven approved participants are Zimbabwe Entrepreneurship Exchange, Ndarama Standard, Questview Brokers, Crowdaxe Capital, Procode Platforms, Financial Securities Exchange (FINSEC), and Colmin Resources Zimbabwe. Their projects span blockchain-based capital raising, crowdfunding, synthetic trading, and the tokenization of assets, securities, and infrastructure.
Tokenization Dominates the Latest Cohort
Admission to the sandbox allows participants to test their products under regulatory supervision in a controlled environment. Under the SECZ's Regulatory Sandbox Guidelines, however, completing the testing phase does not guarantee full commercial registration.

Sandbox Entry Is Not a Guarantee of Approval
Projects that complete supervised testing must still meet the regulator's standard registration requirements before they can begin commercial operations. The sandbox is designed to let the SECZ assess new financial technologies without exposing the broader market to untested risks.
The SECZ did not disclose a timeline for how long participants would remain in the testing phase or when decisions on full registration would be made.
