Securitize Capital, a subsidiary of tokenized asset firm Securitize, has completed registration with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) as an investment adviser. The July 27 announcement marks an upgrade from the company's previous status as an exempt reporting adviser. Under the Investment Advisers Act, the firm is now subject to full disclosure requirements, compliance obligations, recordkeeping rules, and regulatory examination.

The registration was driven by demand from asset managers and institutional investors who want to work with regulated partners on tokenized investment strategies. CEO Carlos Domingo said the move strengthens Securitize's ability to help those clients build and manage strategies designed for on-chain capital markets.

Four Regulated Pillars Under One Platform

Securitize's US operation now holds four distinct regulated functions. Those are: an SEC-registered investment adviser, an SEC-registered broker-dealer running an alternative trading system (ATS), an SEC-registered transfer agent, and fund administration services. The combination positions the company to cover the full lifecycle of institutional tokenized asset activity within a single regulated structure.

Securitize currently holds roughly $4.8 billion in tokenized assets across funds run by BlackRock, Apollo, KKR, VanEck, Hamilton Lane and other institutional asset managers. The company listed on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker SECZ on July 2, 2026, following a merger with Cantor Equity Partners II. Its share price has dropped roughly 46% from its first-day closing level since the listing.

Rivals Have Also Built Advisory Infrastructure

Securitize is not alone in building regulated advisory services around digital assets. Coinbase (COIN) and Kraken have both launched SEC-registered investment advice platforms that use AI. Galaxy Digital has operated its Galaxy Digital Capital Management unit for several years already. In December 2025, Anchorage Digital acquired Securitize For Advisors, the wealth management platform Securitize had originally built for registered investment advisers, pushing further into that segment.
Domingo said the market increasingly demands partners that combine deep tokenization knowledge with a full understanding of regulated market obligations. The SEC registration adds that credential to Securitize's existing platform as institutional appetite for tokenized real-world assets continues to expand.
